On Sunday 27th July, John-Paul Darby and Michael Borschmann awoke to a beautiful sunrise on Mt Stirling. We'd spent the previous day exploring on skis in the white-out conditions, mostly around the Stanley Bowl and Dugout bowl. The Rossignol pattern base BC skis were perfect and we didn't need to put skins on once to climb. It was all fun new terrain to Borsch, but completely obscured from view…..until the Sunday morning, when we woke at Bluff Spur Hut to a stunning sunrise. Finally able to see our tracks (and mishaps!) from the day before , we took as many photos as our iPhone-5 batteries allowed before returning to the hut for breakfast. Having a quiet laugh over our morning coffee we realised that we'd bought the same camping coffee mug, though from opposites sides of the globe…. which was branded "Sea to Summit". This turned out to be a sweet irony, as a few hours later, upon pulling into Ocean Grove, we realised the surf was pumping offshore, allowing us to realise a long held desire to ski and surf the same day….from Sea to Summit!!….Yewwwww

Wow! Such beautiful beautiful pics. The scenery and mood is breathtaking. Well done! A graphic example of how to live!! And not only did you capture summit to surf but sunrise to sunset. Perfect!
