Mike, Morry, Hans and JP venture across Europe's most coveted ski tour, The High Route. A backcountry pilgrimage high level crossing of The Alps from Chamonix in France across to Zermatt in Switzerland. Under the guidance of Luc Berthelot, we all but completed the 180km journey, often staying above 2-3000m, and climbing up to 3800m. Breathtaking scenery, fantastic powder skiing, some very steep (and a tad scary) icy climbs, equally steep abseiling descents and a few close calls with crevasses!! Finally, after 6 days, and in view of the Matterhorn, unfavourable weather conditions prevented us from completing our final day.....until next time!!
